Climate Change

What is Climate Change?

This world is a huge place with billions of people. From our day to day tasks to industrial needs, we need energy. A whole lot of energy. we produce energy from burning fossil fuels for our basic and industrial energy requirements. As you might have studied in science class that burning fossil fuels and gases which are undesirable in the atmosphere cause the phenomenon known as greenhouse effect, in which there is a increase in the net temperature of earth. The change in temperature might seem trivial as little as 1°C or even less.

If the change is trivial then why bother?

Humam body tries to stay in Homeostasis i.e. in constant or stable state but the external environment have a great impact on human body and mind. The human body is very sensitive to the external environment. A slight change in temperature may be increase or decrease affects our metabolism rate directly. Metabolism is the chemical processes that occur within a living organism to ensure it's survival. From digesting food to losing weight metabolism affects it
all. So the so called trivial temperature which might be less than 1°C affect this metabolism which in turns affect all our day to day life processes. Besides affecting humans climate change, has caused droughts and floods. In some places it doesn't rain at all and in some places it rains like cats and dogs. We humans have Disturbed the natural weather cycle of natural due to pollution of a dozen kinds. The wildlife in forest is scattered and
threatened due to this and some species of birds and animals are near to extinct. All the ocean is polluted with chemical effluent from industries and untreated waste is directly dumped into rivers without giving a second thought that it is home to all the aquatic life.

Why am I Writing on this topic?

If only you could understand the intensity of this Global monster and how many people are affected by it daily; you will be scared to your wits. This problem will only worsen if we stay with the commercial methods of waste treatment and energy production. Climate change is on the global agenda and is a burning topic. People and organisations around the world are working day and night to innovate alternatives to reduce pollution and reduce reliance on fossil fuels for energy needs. A lot has been done in the energy sector since last two to three decades with great leaders and thinkers collectively working to defeat the giant with Elon Musk and Bill Gates on the front seat. Elon Musk with his companies Tesla and Solar City are dominating the electric cars and solar energy market thereby harvesting the free energy From the Sun. Bill gates doing his best by investing in alternative energy market and spreading awareness about the problem.

Takeaway :

Climate change affects you no matter who you are; a billionaire or a pauper. My intention in posting this is to make you aware about how big this problem is. If you still think this problem is a problem to be solved by the government or some ultra smart genius person then you are wrong! Thia is a problem which is to tackles by every single one of us and only our collective efforts and awareness can reduce the damage. If you want a better future for your future generations then you have to work towards the solution to this problem.

The below video is of great value with the Ted Talk from Bill Gates.

An short documentary by 'Years of Living Dangerously'.
